A Royal Navy Bomb Disposal team returned to Burnham-On-Sea at the weekend to deal with more wartime ordnance discovered in the Bristol Channel.
After equipment checks, they loaded their boat and launched from the beach next to Burnham’s jetty with the help of the RNLI.
“It was a low tide exposing the treacherous mud so with our experience and launch equipment they asked us to assist them with launch and recovery,” said a spokesman.
The job took around four hours to complete and the RN crew were recovered at around 4pm on Saturday – the second incident of the week.
