The Environment Agency has installed warning notices along parts of Burnham-On-Sea seafront to advise walkers to take extra caution when using the sea wall steps following damage after recent high tides.
Several steps are crumbling and the Environment Agency – which maintains them – says repairs are scheduled to go ahead early next year.
The warning notices have been installed along The Esplanade to advise users to take caution and “beware of damage when entering the beach.”
They add: “Tidal action has resulted in localised damage along the sea defence.”
“Please use additional caution when enjoying this area whilst we wait for our programmed repairs to begin in 2020.”
