Network Rail begins work on Highbridge’s Walrow rail bridge

-

A nine week closure of Highbridge’s Walrow Railway Bridge came into operation on Saturday (March 15th) as Network Rail began strenghtening work.

The bridge was cordoned off on Saturday afternoon as diversion signs were put into place along routes on both sides of the bridge.

We reported last month how Network Rail had said the bridge – which has only been partially open to light vehicles since last September amid fears about the safety of its structure – would be closed for up to three months to complete the long-awaited work so that it can fully re-open to all traffic during June.
