Heavy rain fails to halt annual Burnham-On-Sea to Brent Knoll walk

-

Heavy rain failed to stop this hardy group of walkers completing a seven mile walk from Burnham-On-Sea to Brent Knoll on Sunday (February 13th).

Over 20 members of SWAG (Somerset Walking and Activity Group) gathered on the town’s seafront to pull on their waterproofs and walking boots to take part in the annual walk to the top of the Knoll and back.

The organisation is aimed at young people in their 20s and 30s and has a total of 80 members across North Somerset. It holds regular Sunday walks, varying from 5-15 miles, with the routes often including a pub or tea shop en route.

Somerset Walking and Activity Group is affiliated to the Ramblers Association and allows newcomers to walk three times to try it out before joining at a cost of £21/year. More details here. Next week’s walk will be from Weston to Sand Point.
