Two Highbridge groups have this week been given a financial boost by supermarket Waitrose.
Highbridge Dreamscheme and Highbridge Community Youth Club have received a total of almost £500 from Waitrose in Weston after receiving donations from the firm’s ‘Community Matters’ fund.
“Every month Waitrose customers are given the opportunity to decide how to share £1,000 of funding between three worthwhile local charities. We are delighted to support the Highbridge Dreamscheme and Highbridge Community Youth Club, who are playing such a valuable role in our local community,” a spokesman from Waitrose in Weston told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
PCSO Claire Finch added: “A big thank you to Waitrose for their support, it will be of great help to both groups with their running costs throughout the Summer meaning we will be able to continue providing diversionary activities for young people in Highbridge through our team of dedicated team of volunteers.”
“I’d also like to use this opportunity to ask any local person over the age of 16 who would consider donating just a few hours every couple of months to helping young people in their local area to get in touch with me by email here or on 07825 011647 to discuss how they may be able to help.”
The Highbridge Dreamscheme were given £260 and Highbridge Community Youth Club £225.
