Business Secretary Vince Cable visits Burnham-On-Sea area

-

The Secretary of State for Business, Vince Cable, visited the Burnham-On-Sea area on Thursday (September 27th), meeting local business people with MP Tessa Munt.

After dropping in at Glastonbury and Street in the morning, Mr Cable attended the annual lunch of the British Holiday & Home Parks Association at Brean Leisure Park, which was attended by over 50 people.

This was followed by a ‘coffee and questions’ event at the Oaktree Arena in Highbridge, attended by dozens of invited business people.

Mr Cable then moved on to Haley Engineering Ltd in East Brent where he met the staff and was shown the work that goes on there.

Tessa and he wrapped up the day with a visit to VADO in Wedmore Road, Cheddar, where they met the management team.

Earlier in the day, Mr Cable also spoke to students at the launch of a new university comparison website set up by the Government to provide extensive information on over 31,000 university courses, allowing candidates to compare statistics.
