A thunder and lightning storm swept through Burnham-On-Sea overnight, creating these spectacular scenes.
The summer storms were triggered by the ongoing heatwave and left many residents in Burnham-On-Sea and the surrounding area with a disrupted night of sleep.
Intense flashes of lightning and claps of thunder were seen in Burnham-On-Sea late on Tuesday and into the early morning, along with occasional heavy bursts of rain.
It followed temperatures in Burnham hitting a record for the year so far at 31.9°C (89.4°F) mid-afternoon on Tuesday.
The Burnham-On-Sea weather forecast predicts more high temperatures are due for today (Wednesday) and tomorrow.
