High winds gusting up to 60mph hit Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday afternoon (August 10th), creating stormy seas in Bridgwater Bay.
While the conditions meant local beaches were nearly empty of holidaymakers for several hours, they proved ideal for windsurfers.
Several daring surfers ventured out onto into the bay to speed along the waves and make the most of the strong onshore winds, as pictured here.
There were also stormy sea conditions at Brean where big waves crashed into the Brean Down Fort for several hours.
The Burnham-On-Sea weather forecast sees breezy conditions on Sunday with showers and sunshine.
