VIDEO: Lorry blaze causes long M5 delays between Weston and Burnham-On-Sea

-

There were long tailbacks on the M5 motorway between Burnham-On-Sea and Weston on Sunday evening (June 23rd) as fire crews tackled a blazing lorry carrying bales of hay.

The fire started just after 5pm and caused long queues on southbound carriageway, which was fully closed between junction 21 for Weston and junction 22 for Burnham-On-Sea.

As pictured here, multiple fire crews were on scene with the southbound carriageway fully closed.

A tractor and other equipment was used to remove bales while fire crews were using hose reel jets to damp down the vehicle and its load.
