Punch Taverns, the firm that owns Burnham-On-Sea’s Victoria Hotel, has this week unveiled plans to give the building a big overhaul.
As we reported here, the hotel’s former landlords Martin and Dee Lloyd have retired and left the hotel at the end of December, temporarily closing it.
The firm plans to give the town centre hotel in Victoria Street a new look inside and out before re-opening it.
Its proposal includes the demolition of the front entrance porch, wooden fence and garden archway, rearranging the front seating area, re-painting the exterior dark navy and cream, installing bi-folding doors and new signs. The interior is expected to get a modern new look as well.
A simple message on the hotel’s front door states: “After 18 years Martin and Dee have closed the doors and have left the Victoria Hotel. We would like to thank you all for your business and support over the years and wish you all a good 2017. The Victoria will re-open in approximately four weeks under new management and with a sparkling fresh new look.”
