Hundreds of Volkswagen enthusiasts braved high winds in Brean over the weekend for the village’s annual Van West festival.
Gales gusting up to 60mph battered the camp site at Warren Farm Holiday Park during the three-day festival and organisers were forced to end the event early.
“Due to the adverse weather conditions we’ve experienced we were forced to close the show earlier than planned on Sunday morning, but the cruise to the beach still went ahead as planned. Sorry to all of you that made the effort to come to the show and a big thanks to all that braved the VanWesterly winds!” said a spokesman.
A number of trade stands and attractions were set up alongside the displays of vehicles and other entertainment – although some left early due to the winds.
Around 100 of the vehicles took part in a mass convoy through Brean to the beach on Sunday afternoon, as pictured above by Steve Rothwell.
