A fisherman got a sinking feeling when his van became stuck in mud on Burnham-On-Sea’s beach this week.
The van owner was trying to load his boat onto its trailer on Tuesday afternoon (September 9th) when the wheels of his vehicle became trapped, preventing it from moving away.
A nearby 4×4 vehicle was called to the scene and, as pictured above, the vehicle was towed up the beach, safely out of the incoming tide.
There have been several vehicle rescues at the same spot in recent years. A car was pulled from the waves in 2005 and a van was completely submerged in sea water two years ago.
