Van pulled to safety on Burnham-On-Sea beach after getting stuck

-

A red-faced van driver whose vehicle got stuck in soft sand on Burnham-On-Sea beach was pulled free by rescuers on Thursday (September 26th).

The Citroen got into difficulty when its wheels sank into the soft sand while its driver was installing new signs.

A beach walker contacted BARB after seeing the driver struggling to free the vehicle on his own.

A team of the charity’s volunteers was sent to the scene at 12.15pm and quickly managed to free the van.

Driver Nick Laurelli said: “I was extremely grateful for the quick response, having tried for some time to free the vehicle. I’ve made a donation to BARB to thank the charity and cover its costs of attending.”
