Over 100 classic cars head to Burnham-On-Sea seafront this evening

-

Over 100 classic vehicles will arrive on Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront this evening (Saturday, June 1st) during the 20th annual Vale of Avalon Vintage Vehicle Road Run.

The popular event will show off a range of vintage vehicles, from cars and military vehicles, to emergency service vehicles and motorbikes.

The run starts in Glastonbury and the vehicles will move into Burnham-On-Sea, arriving at the Pier Street Car Park on the South Esplanade at around 6.30pm.

The cars will be on show until the Mayor of Burnham, Cllr Martin Cox, presents awards to the best entries.

The run is organised by Den and Daphne Stone of Glastonbury and this year it will raise money for Happy Landings Animal rescue rehoming and welfare centre.

“This is our 20th year and we are looking forward to the event again and hope that as many people as possible will be around to look at the cars and help us to raise money for this good cause,” organiser Daphne Stone told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Trophies are given for vehicles in six classes: cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, military, emergency and American vehicles.
