Burnham United Under 15s team are celebrating after winning the Woodspring League Knockout Cup on Sunday (May 11th).
The final, played at at Cheddar Football Club, was well contested with a spirited Weston town performing strongly against Burnham.
The Burnham squad were favourites after coming to the final having already won the Woodspring League U15 1st division by seven points.
A tense match unfolded, with the score being 1-0 to the Burnham side at half-time although they missed several opportunities to take a better lead.
Ten minutes into the second-half Weston equalised after an unfortunate bounce in front of the Burnham keeper.
Burnham mustered their energy and scored a second goal ten minutes later and a third with five minutes to go, finally winning the game 3-1.
Goals were scored for Burnham by Jack Spence and Jordan Cann, although the whole team performed like the deserved champions they were.
