A brand new family-friendly restaurant serving home cooked food is to open in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea next month.
Truly Scrumptious will open for the first time on Friday March 5th at 20 College Street in place of Crowdy’s Bistro, which recently closed down.
Owner Scott Pring, who is head chef at Bridgwater College, and partner Cathy Hurley are turning the premises into an “old fashioned coffee shop selling uncomplicated, quality, home-cooked food.”
Scott told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There’s definitely a gap in the market here in Burnham for home-cooked cakes, light lunches and quality coffees in comfortable surroundings. We don’t intend to be a ‘greasy spoon’, but will offer a warm, friendly atmosphere that will be suitable for all the family. We’ll take pride in making quality food and offering it at sensible prices.”
Truly Scrumptious will also offer Rainforest Alliance coffee, a Sunday carvery, event catering, and also host children’s parties around food themes, such as bakery. The premises has also applied for a liquor licence.
Scott added that he is currently seeking 2-3 part time staff to help run the new venture.
