A grand total of £11,678 was raised for charity by the residents of a Burnham-On-Sea cul-de-sac whose sparkling display of over 100,000 twinkling Christmas lights has been dubbed ‘Britain’s most festive street’.
As the Trinity Close lights come down after a busy five week festive season, the residents say they are delighted with the record amount raised.
Crowds of visitors flocked to see the sparkling display, raising cash for PETAL: The Christine Woodberry Memorial Trust and the Friends of Burnham Hospital.
Resident Nick Gardner, who is one of the residents who organises the display, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was an exceptionally good festive season and we are all very pleased with the final sum.”
“To raise £11,688 for charity over the five weeks is incredible – simply superb – and a big thank you goes from us all to those who came along and supported us.”
“The wet weather provided us with a few extra challenges, creating several electrical shorts, but it didn’t deter the visitors.”
