Dozens of athletes from across the region will be converging on Burnham-On-Sea today (Sunday, June 8th) when the town holds its annual summer triathlon.
Organised by Burnham-On-Sea Swim and Sports Academy, the Sprint Triathlon will be held from 6.30am. Berrow Road will be closed to all traffic from 4am until 12 noon.
“We have a full entry of 230 adults for our Sprint Triathlon and the weather looks fine for what should be a fantastic event,” organiser Martin Rogers told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Competitors will be starting in waves every few minutes up until 9am. They will swim 20 lengths of the pool, complete a 20km cycle ride, followed by a 5km run.
