Long-running Burnham group’s future is in jeopardy – can you help?

A Burnham-On-Sea group says its future is in jeopardy because it is unable to find a new volunteer treasurer.

The Burnham-On-Sea Trefoil Guild, a branch of the Girl Guide Movement, has been meeting monthly in St Andrew’s Church Hall for the last 14 years.

“We are a happy, friendly bunch of ladies, but at the moment we have a big worry on our minds,” Guild Secretary Christine Hill told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Our annual meeting will be held in January, but the New Year may be a sad time for the Trefoil ladies as it appears that we will not be able to elect a Treasurer. Unfortunately, without a Treasurer we cannot operate and will have to close.”

She added: “We are hoping that someone, or even two people, would offer to be our Treasurer/s or Assistants and help us with our small accounts.”

“Thus making a group of ladies happy again. We would be very grateful if anyone is interested please call June Garton on 01278 794638 for a chat.”
