‘Mindless’ vandals have been attacked by a Burnham-On-Sea group this week after a tree was broken.
The Air Cadets are celebrating their 75th anniversary this year and, to mark it, the corps was donated a tree for each squadron by local garden centres.
The tree for 290 Squadron Burnham and Highbridge was planted a few weeks ago opposite the new Burnham Railway sign is in Marine Drive.
“We were planning a dedication ceremony later this year, which will now have to be cancelled because some mindless vandal has destroyed the tree,” said CI Jeff Jackson.
