Travellers leave Burnham-On-Sea car park after council’s legal action

-

The start of legal action has led a group of travellers who set up camp in a Burnham-On-Sea car park leaving on Thursday evening.

The group of eight vans and motorhomes plus several horse boxes moved from the Pier Street car park on the town’s seafront soon after 9pm.

Sedgemoor District Council told Burnham-On-Sea.com it had begun proceedings to get them moved.

“The Pier Street travellers had been served with court proceedings and the case was listed for Monday 18th July in Weston,” said a spokeswoman.
