Donations of toys flood in for Brean Play’s Christmas children appeal

-

Brean Play has this week thanked local people in the Burnham-On-Sea area for coming forward with donations of toys to help local families in need.

Brean Play joined forces with the Salvation Army for its annual Christmas Toy Appeal this year to help provide a better Christmas to children in Somerset.

Visitors were invited to drop new toys into a special collection point – as featured here by Burnham-On-Sea.com – and they did not disappoint.

Mike Barsby from Brean Leisure Park told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Salvation Army has praised people’s generosity as they are currently sorting gifts at the Weston centre donated by Brean Play and others as part of their annual collection.”

“Between now and Christmas they will be busy wrapping the gifts and distributing the toys to local children, many of whom have difficult family circumstances.”

“It was a pleasure to meet Major Toy – his real name, how lovely – and some of her team.”

“The Salvation Army does essential work supporting local families and this appeal goes some way to helping local families in need enjoy the happy Christmas that most of us will take for granted.”

“A big thank you to all the people that donated toys at Brean Play this year.”
