Burnham and Highbridge Town Council Clerk Tatiana Cant is set to step down

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council Clerk Tatiana Cant is to step down from her role at the end of January.

She began in her role in March 2017 and has overseen a busy 18 months of activity that included last month’s Neighbourhood Plan referendum and a push for Burnham to be more environmentally friendly.

In a statement issued this week, she said: “I will shortly be leaving Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Council as I have been offered another job. I will be moving to Cornwall to be the Clerk in Perranporth.”

“My reason for moving is to be closer to my family which is based in Devon and Cornwall, and it feels that this opportunity will match my experience and aspirations.”

“My new role starts at the beginning of 2019. I will be working closely with the Town Council over the next few weeks to recruit a new clerk to pick up the reins as quickly as possible.”

She added: “Burnham and Highbridge Town Council is currently in a strong position and I am sure the incoming clerk will be able to advance the initiatives and projects which are already underway.”

“I have become very attached to Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge, and have really enjoyed working on introducing changes to take the community forward.”

“I am extremely grateful to all the lovely people I have met in this community and for the tremendous support I have received during my time here.”
