Plan for Burnham desserts restaurant in place of bank approved by District Council

-

Plans to open a new desserts restaurant in Burnham-On-Sea town centre  specialising in Belgian waffles, crepes, cheesecake, cakes and ice creams to replace a former bank and building society building have this week been granted final approval by Sedgemoor District Council.

The premises at 14 College Street was formerly home to the Britannia Building Society and then the Co-operative Bank before it closed down in 2016, as reported here.

The new owner has submitted a planning application to Sedgemoor District Council for “a change of use of a former building society premises to a restaurant.”

Sedgemoor District Council’s planning department has this week granted final consent to the application.

The Town Council’s Planning Applications Committee had previously given its backing to the application, as reported here by Burnham-On-Sea.com.
