Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Town Band gets new musical director

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Band has this week announced the appointment of their new musical director.

As a cornet player, Ellis Holt has played in brass bands at all levels, from 4th to championship section.

He was principal cornet for Castleton Brass for six years but following a move to Somerset, has taken up the challenge of the conductor’s baton.

He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I am thrilled to be appointed to the talented Burnham and Highbridge Band. I want to create some wonderfully enjoyable programmes for players and audiences alike, and am really looking forward to our first main concert of the year at The Princess Theatre on April 15th.”

Pam Fisher, Chairman, said how delighted the band is to have such an enthusiastic and energetic MD, adding: “We are currently accepting new players, particularly cornets and percussion.”

“If you would like to give us a try, come along to the band room in Worston Road, every Wednesday at 7.30pm or contact sarah@burnhamandhighbridge.band”
