A special concert will be held in Burnham-On-Sea this Sunday to celebrate twenty years of Burnham-On-Sea University of the Third Age (U3A).
The concert by Burnham and Highbridge Band will be held at 7.45pm in the town’s Princess Theatre in aid of the U3A.
Band Secretary Ken Henton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “U3A is a wonderful movement which provides learning, leisure and social activities for people no longer if full time employment.”
“The Burnham group was started by Ken Hindle, who is the current Chairman, in 1992 and Burnham and Highbridge Band is proud to support the U3A.”
“This is not the first time the band has had connections with the movement. Three years ago it took part in the U3A’s Edward Elgar weekend, when it performed his ‘Severn Suite’ to much acclaim.”
“The concert will include the band’s usual eclectic selection of popular light music and is, of course, open to the public.”
Tickets cost £6 each or £5 for concessions and will be available on the door or from Ken Hindle at Burnham Community Centre in Berrow Road.
