Burnham-On-Sea’s new 2010 tourist guide has been launched this week with the aim of encouraging more visitors to our area during what could be a challenging year for the local tourist trade.
A 24-page glossy brochure was officially unveiled on Wednesday (February 10th) by Bob Nicholson, Chairman of Somerset Tourism Association, on Burnham seafront.
A total of 100,000 copies of the brochure have been printed and these will be distributed in Tourist Information Centres, inserted into tourist magazines and handed out at tourism exhibitions and shows during the next year.
“We hope that this year will be a good year for the local tourist trade, but the early indications on bookings have been disappointing,” Bob told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Last year, our area benefited from many people taking holidays in the UK during the recession, but we need to promote ourselves to ensure holidymakers keep coming back and that newcomers are welcomed.”
“Money is tight at the moment. The new tourism guide provides lots of helpful information about Burnham, Brean and Berrow – with advice about things to do and places to go.”
The brochure is available from Burnham-On-Sea Tourist Information Centre on the town’s seafront and is funded by advertisers, who include Burnham-On-Sea.com.
