Tourist attractions in the Burnham-On-Sea area have joined forces this week to promote the region as a tourist destination.
Staff from Brean Leisure Park, Wookey Hole and Brean Pontins took part in a promotional push in the Midlands.
Organised by Somerset Tourism Association, the second tour of 2011 visited Asda stores around Birmingham.
Mike Barsby of Brean Leisure Park told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “5,000 Somerset holiday information packs were handed out to shoppers and we received a very warm welcome from shoppers.”
“Tourism is vitally important to the economy of our county, creating around 31,000 jobs and a billion pounds income annually.”
“Promotional initiatives such as the Midlands tour play a major role in encouraging more people to holiday in our lovely county.”
