Extreme sports event raises over £2,000 for Burnham-based charity

-

A hardy group of Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers have boosted a local charity by more than £2,000 by completing an extreme sports event.

Seven members of Somerset Breast Cancer Now took part in the latest Tough Mudder South West.

The group – Ian Macbeth, Holly Macbeth, Eugene Martin and supporters Lauren Summers, Kelly Burne, John Holderness and Trish Downing – bravely completed the gruelling event at Cirencester Park in Gloucestershire.

Somerset Breast Cancer Now’s Chairperson Holly Macbeth, who lost her mum Christine to Cancer earlier this year, said: “So far we have raised over £2,200 which is a fantastic amount, but if anyone would still like to make a donation they can do so online here.”

“Our thanks go to everyone who took party and who has supported us.”
