Summer opening hours have this week begun at Burnham-On-Sea Tourist Information Centre, which is now open seven days a week right through to the end of October.
Cindy Tee, Visitor Services Manager at Sedgemoor District Council, said: “We have already had a positive start this year – the number of enquiries we have received for information about places to visit and places to stay has been high through February and March, indicating that we could be looking forward to a busy summer.”
The centres at Burnham and Cheddar had over 172,000 visitors through their doors last year and received more than 10,000 telephone calls and answered more than 2,000 emails.
The Tourist Information Centres are operated by Sedgemoor District Council and offer a range of services for visitors and locals alike.
