Burnham-On-Sea’s MP has spent a day working with the team at Somerset’s RSPCA to find out more at first hand about the work they do.
Tessa Munt joined Chief RSPCA Inspector John Pollock on several calls, discovering what inspectors face when they go about their local work to protect animals who cannot help themselves.
Tessa met the team at Somerset’s RSPCA centre West Hatch near Taunton and toured the whole site before heading off with Mr Pollock on several calls.
Tessa told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Animal welfare has always been one of my passions and I was keen to see how the RSPCA responds to calls here in Somerset. I have been alerted to cases of potential mistreatment by concerned local people, and it was fascinating to learn what the RSPCA does in these instances.”
“It is great to have the RSPCA here to respond to local calls, and this visit reassured me that animals rescued and treated in Somerset have the best possible chance of recovery and then release or re-homing.”
