Hole cut in roof of Burnham’s Tesco store in attempted raid

Daring robbers have attempted to carry out a raid on Burnham-On-Sea’s Tesco store by creating a hole in the roof of the supermarket, it has emerged this week.

Burnham-On-Sea.com learns Tesco’s maintenance team discovered the hole in the roof of the supermarket in Ben Travers Way on Monday (October 19th) lunchtime.

Police officers were called to the scene at just after mid-day to start investigations into the unusual incident.

Police spokesman Simon Whitby confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It appears a hole was created in the roof of the store in an apparent attempt to gain entry. It was unsuccessful and nothing was stolen.”
