Police investigate holiday park thefts in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Handbags, credit cards and cameras are among the valuables stolen during a spate of thefts from tents and caravan awnings at two holiday parks in Burnham-On-Sea this week.

A total of 11 incidents have been reported at Burnham-On-Sea Holiday Village and Brean’s Unity Farm holiday park, police said on Thursday (June 24th).

Inspector Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There have been six thefts at Unity Farm and a further five at Burnham Holiday Village where property was removed from inside tents and awnings. The stolen items included handbags, cameras, bikes, music systems and credit cards.”

“Holidaymakers must understand that these are insecure places to keep valuables and we would urge them to ensure valuables are properly locked away.”

Police are investigating whether the latest incidents are linked – and whether they are also related to a similar spate of thefts at Home Farm Holiday Park last month.

Inspector Tolley appealed for anyone who saw anything suspicious at either holiday to get in contact via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
