Taking place from 13th-19th August 2017, the Avenue Tennis Club’s Burnham-On-Sea Annual Open Tournament is a well-supported fixture in the local sporting calendar.
“This prestigious event includes an LTA Grade 3 Junior Tournament (21 events), an LTA Grade 3 Senior Tournament (10 events) and an LTA Grade 5 Handicap Tournament (5 events), and is one of the main tennis competitions in the South West,” says the club’s Tony Deahl.
“The tournament attracts competitors of a very high standard from all over the country, many of them staying in the area for the whole week.”
“It run by Graeme Luckin, a very experienced LTA referee, who has recently been awarded the honour of LTA/Aegon Official of the Year.”
Refreshments are available at the club and spectators are very welcome throughout the week, with admission being free.
