Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club is welcoming newcomers this weekend (May 12th and 13th) to try out the sport as it joins a nationwide Great British Tennis Weekend.
Sponsored by the Lawn Tennis Assocation, the event is taking place at the club in The Grove, Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday and Sunday from 1pm until 4pm.
The event is designed for all ages and all abilities – and racquets and balls will be supplied for those new to the sport. The club is looking forward to welcoming both individuals and especially families.
“The event is free and coaching and half hour taster sessions will be on offer from 3 LTA coaches and experienced club members,” says The Avenue’s Barry Ramsden.
“The open days are designed to give young and old alike an insight into the wonderful game of tennis.”
“This event promises to give afternoons of enjoyment and fun for all the family. Refreshments will be available.”
“If you are unable to make it this weekend or want to come again you will be welcome to attend another Great British Tennis Weekend on July 21st and 22nd.”
The family friendly club is in The Grove, TA8 2PA, which is accessible from either Berrow Road or Stoddens Road.
