Burnham-On-Sea tennis club’s open day proves a smash hit

-

Dozens of people attended a summer open day at Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club on Sunday (July 3rd).

Free coaching and tours of the club’s facilities were available at the club, which is located in The Grove.

In the afternoon, the men’s and ladies Somerset Closed Finals were held and Burnham’s Martin Hoyland raised the trophy, with Craig Phillips finishing in the runner-up’s spot.

The Wimbledon Men’s Final was shown live on the club’s large TV screen throughout the afternoon, accompanied by strawberry and cream teas, Pimms and other refreshments.

Avenue coach Barry Ramsden told Burnham-On-Sea.com the event had been a great success. “It was a very well supported event, with over 70 children and eight adults receiving free coaching during the course of the day. We were also lucky to have superb weather.”

A membership offer is available throughout July of nine months for the price of six. The offer also include three free group coaching lessons. For details, call the club on 01278 782758.
