Community-spirited Burnham teenagers plan week of fundraising

A group of community-spirited teenagers in Burnham-On-Sea are set to complete a series of fundraising challenges to raise money for local charities.

The 13 teenagers are currently undertaking their National Citizen Service and plan to do their ‘social action project’ in Burnham over the coming week.

“We are intending to raise funds for three great local causes – BARB Search & Rescue, In Charley’s Memory and The Friends of Burnham Hospital,” one of the group, Emily Cotton, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The group, pictured with their leaders, are called Team Mystery Incorporated, and will be doing car washes, treasure hunts and other events, dressed up as Scooby Doo characters.

The events, which run from July 27th until August 1st, include:

Monday:
Car wash at Dunstan House Inn, £5 per car, 10am-3pm

Tuesday:
Treasure hunt around Burnham starting at the jetty, £1 per person, 11am-5pm

Wednesday:
Treasure hunt around Apex Park starting at the car park, £1 person, 11am-5pm

Thursday:
Treasure hunt around Burnham starting at the jetty, £1 per person, 11am-5pm

Friday:
Car wash at Dunstan House Inn, £5 per car, 10am-3pm

Saturday:
Car boot, raffle and cake sale at the BASC Sports Ground
