A teddy bear’s picnic with an inspirational theme was held at Brent Knoll Primary School on Wednesday (June 19th).
The children, parents and staff were invited to bring along their teddies to the traditional picnic and tea where Burnham’s 92 year-old Olympic Torch Bearer Arthur Gilbert was the special guest.
Arthur, who was named the world’s oldest triathlete in 2011, explained to the children how his activities can inspire them.
The children discussed their dreams, work and achievements with the theme of ‘be the best you can be’. Each was then presented with an Olympic legacy coin, following on from the London 2012 Games last year.
The event was also an opportunity to raise money and awareness for an African girl Laura Apondi and the Educate the Kids Charity.
