A pupil at a Highbridge school has become the latest youngster in the Burnham-On-Sea area to be affected by Swine Flu.
A youngster in Year 1 at Beechfield Infants has been confirmed with the flu virus, the school told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The school’s headteacher, Sheelagh Aslett, added in newsletter for parents this week that there are a “significant number of children with chicken pox.”
Schools across Somerset are currently being told to only close if there is a staff shortage as a result of the spread of the illness.
There have been several cases of Swine Flu in the Burnham area. The other cases were reported in July at St John’s School, King Alfred School and at Berrow School.
