Delighted members of the swimming team at Burnham-On-Sea’s St Andrew’s School made a splash on Wednesday (March 17th) when they were crowned Sedgemoor Schools Swimming Champions.
The team, pictured above, won first place at the inaugural Sedgemoor Primary Schools Swimming Gala held at Burnham’s Swim and Sports Academy in Berrow Road.
The academy’s Sara Cox-Conklin told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A big thank you to all the schools who supported our first gala. I cannot give enough credit to the head teachers and swim staff who pulled this together and made this happen.”
“From the shouts and cheers from the swimmers and parents, it looked as though everyone had a great time, and for many children, they got to experience their first competitive event.”
First was St Andrew’s, second was Brent Knoll, third was Berrow, fourth was East Huntspill and fifth was Puriton.
