A teenage swimmer from Burnham-On-Sea has been awarded hundreds of pounds by two Burnham groups.
Chloé Edrich has received £400 from members of Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club and Burnham-On-Sea Round Table at a meeting at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club.
It comes after the talented swimmer reached the UK’s National Swimming Finals last year where she did especially well with her 100m breaststroke. She went in ranked 21st but managed to get into the final ranked 8th and finished 7th overall.
Rotary President Bernard Raines told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Rotary has supported Chloé in the past because she is a local Burnham swimmer. She was short of a donation for her costumes so we were happy to help.”
Rotary have given Chloé £289 for a new swimming costume for her to wear at national swimming competitions.
Chloé, a member of Taunton Deane Swimming Club, also received another cheque for £163 from Burnham Round Table towards additional swimwear. The town’s Round Table has recently closed and has given its remaining funds to Chloé.
