Burnham-On-Sea’s Academy Swim Team has won over 40 medals during a regional competition held in the town.

Held at Burnham Swim & Sports Academy in Berrow Road, this week’s event saw 130 swimmers from Clevedon, Taunton, West Somerset, Street, Wellington, Cheddar and Backwell competing in the second annual Sprint Open Meeting for the Somerset County Championships.

“Burnham’s Academy Swim Team fought off some fierce competition to come away with multiple personal bests, county qualifying times and 18 Gold, 10 Silver and 13 Bronze medals,” the Academy’s Sara Cox Conklin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The team has now qualified swimmers for over 130 events in the Somerset County Championships which are held over four weekends in March – a phenomenal achievement!”

The under 11 results are available here and the 12s and over results are here.
