A man from Wedmore who was charged with possessing a shotgun without a firearms certificate during the police probe into a spate of swan shootings in the Burnham-On-Sea area earlier this year has been found guilty.
Shane Alway, 37, appeared before Bridgwater Magistrates Court on Tuesday (May 10th) where he was fined £750 and ordered to pay court costs of £95. He pleaded guilty to possession of a shotgun without a licence.
Separately, two men who were originally arrested in connection with the swan killings were released without charge. As previously reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com, dozens of swans were found dead earlier this year after being shot.
