-

Three men were arrested on Tuesday (March 8th) in connection with a spate of swan shootings in the Burnham-On-Sea area.

Police announced that three men aged 45, 37 and 34 had been held following the shooting of at least 40 swans.

“They have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in relation to the shooting of swans,” a police spokesman confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The arrests follow an investigation by the RSPCA and police into the shooting of an unconfirmed number of swans over a three-week period.”

The men were later released on bail pending further enquiries.

A reward of £26,000 was raised by supporters of Secret World to find the culprits of the killings.

As previously reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com, dozens of swans have been found dead after being shot by an airgun.
