Burnham-On-Sea charity shop attacked by mean vandals

-

Mean vandals have left a charity in Burnham-On-Sea with a repair bill for hundreds of pounds after smashing a window during a break-in this week.

The front window of Sue Ryder Care in the High Street has been boarded up after vandals broke the front window late on Sunday night.

“Although nothing was taken, some of our stock was damaged and the vandals left a curry food sauce smeared across part of the shop,” manager Helen Roberts (pictured) told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It has been a great inconvenience for our volunteers this week, who have had to clean it all up. It is very disappointing that vandals would do this to a shop, particularly a charity shop.”

Police spokesman Steve Game told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Police are investigating an incident of criminal damage at the Sue Ryder shop in the High Street.”

“We were called at 10.25pm on Sunday evening when a glass window was broken.”

It is hoped that footage from CCTV cameras in the High Street may provide footage of those who committed the crime, but police are appealing for witnesses.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation should contact them via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
