A man who stole a £300 saxophone from the window of a Burnham-On-Sea charity shop will not be charged, police have said this week.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported here last week that the musical instrument, which was stolen from Sue Ryder Care in Burnham High Street in January, had been recovered after being spotted by an eagle-eyed volunteer.
A police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “A 41 year-old man from Weston has handed himself in at Burnham Police Station.”
“Since this was his first offence and the saxophone has been recovered, he has been given a formal police caution and the matter is now closed.”
The shop’s Manageress, Helen Roberts, said she was “delighted” to have the musical instrument back and thanked the public for its support.
