Staff at a Burnham-On-Sea charity shop are celebrating this week after winning the title ‘National Retail Volunteer Team Of The Year’.
The Sue Ryder shop in Burnham High Street has beaten more than 350 stores across the UK to win the sought-after award.
Judges recently visited the store and were impressed how the volunteers get involved in running the shop and were encouraged to work as a team.
Helen Roberts, Manager of the Burnham store, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’re very proud of the contribution of our volunteers and are delighted to have won. The team fully deserve this recognition.”
Alan Hodges, director of retail at Sue Ryder, added: “Volunteering is the lifeblood of our shops. We are very grateful to everyone who gives up their time for the charity.”
