Fast food chain Subway looks set to open on Burnham-On-Sea High Street this autumn, having submitted a planning application this week to install its signs on a town centre shop.
Burnham-On-Sea.com can reveal today (Thursday) that the company is set to open at 36 The High Street, currently the home of JJ Welsh’s restaurant, whose owners are selling up.
Although no final deal has been signed for the property, a planning application has been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council this week requesting permission to install various Subway-branded signs at the property.
The application covers “one externally illuminated fascia sign, one externally illuminated projecting sign, non-illuminated vinyl window stickers with ‘Subway’ and opening hours and one neon ‘open sign’ suspended in the window.”
Burnham-On-Sea.com was first to report last December that Subway would be opening a restaurant in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea.
Subway is a global restaurant franchise that sells sandwiches, called ‘subs’, and salads. It has over 30,342 franchised units in 87 countries.
