The team behind plans to hold a huge street party in Highbridge for this spring’s royal wedding held their first fundraising event on Tuesday (February 22nd).
Highbridge Residents Association is organising the party during April to celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
A table top sale was held at Highbridge Community Centre on Tuesday when tables were hired out and residents could buy a range of goods, from cakes to books and crafts.
Tina Gray, Highbridge Residents’ Associations Vice Chairman, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were a little disappointed by the size of the turnout, but we raised £220 and that’s a good sum towards helping us put on the street party.”
She added that a public meeting is to be held next Friday (March 4th) at 9.30am at Hope Baptist Church where further plans for the event are to be agreed.
