A Brent Knoll couple have raised £2,000 for a children’s hospice by holding a strawberry tea in memory of their late grandson.
Ian and Janet Breed, pictured, attracted more than 150 supporters to the fundraiser in their garden on Sunday (June 26th).
“We had a wonderful response, raising over £2,000 on the day for Children’s Hospice South West and donations are still coming in,” Janet told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We had such a lovely sunny day which enabled us to run out of strawberries and nearly everything else, so a big thank you to everyone who came along.”
The couple held the event in memory of their six-year-old grandson Luke, who tragically died five years ago.
He added: “We are so lucky to have a wonderful band of helpers to whom we are so grateful and also local firms who provided the cider, scones and wonderful raffle prizes.”
